The medium pressure regulator 815 is a 1st stage pressure regulator for LPG, which reduces the unregulated pressure from the LPG container to 0.75 – 2.5 bar outlet pressure.
A safety shut-off valve (OPSO) and a safety relief valve (PRV) are fitted to the regulator as safety-related equipment.
The 2nd stage is usually carried out via a low pressure regulator NDR-820 to 824, which must be purchased separately.
Now New! A spring set which allows the output pressure to be adjusted from 2.5 – 4.0 bar.

OPERATING PRINCIPLES
The pressure regulator reduces the unregulated pressure from the LPG tank to 0.75-4.0 bar in a single stage.
If the outlet pressure at the pressure regulator rises to an impermissibly high level, the response pressure of the overpressure safety shut-off valve
(OPSO) is reached, which then closes automatically and shuts off the gas flow upstream of the pressure regulator. The visual display shows the current operating status of the OPSO.
Clear = open
Red = closed
If there is a further increase in pressure, e.g. due to the OPSO not closing completely, after the set response pressure has been reached the
set response pressure, the safety relief valve (PRV) automatically releases a limited amount of the gas flow into the atmosphere.

TYP MDR-815 with OPSO and PRV
DESCRIPTION
The pressure regulator type 815 is a 1st stage pressure regulator that reduces the unregulated pressure from the LPG tank to a set outlet pressure. A safety shut-off valve (OPSO) and a safety relief valve (PRV) are fitted to the regulator as safety equipment.
A. INDIVIDUAL DESCRIPTIONS
1. Safety shut-off valve (OPSO)
The OPSO is open during normal operation and has the function of automatically shutting off the gas flow as soon as the set response pressure (see table) is reached. It must be opened manually after closing.
2. 1st stage pressure regulator
The pressure regulator reduces the unregulated pressure from the liquid gas container to a set outlet pressure. (see table)
3. Safety relief valve (PRV)
The PRV is closed during normal operation and has the task of automatically releasing the gas flow as soon as the pressure in the system to be protected has reached the set pressure (see table). It closes again automatically when the pressure drops below the set pressure.
4. Emergency supply connection
If necessary, the emergency supply connection can be used to provide an emergency supply from a gas cylinder by means of a connection hose. from a gas cylinder.
B. MODE OF OPERATION
The pressure regulator reduces the unregulated pressure from the liquid gas container in a single stage to 0.75-2.5 bar.
In the event of an impermissibly high increase in the outlet pressure at the pressure regulator, the response pressure of the safety shut-off valve (OPSO) is reached, which then closes automatically and shuts off the gas flow upstream of the pressure regulator. The respective operating status of the OPSO can be seen on the visual display.
Clear = open
Red = closed
If there is a further increase in pressure, e.g. due to the OPSO not closing completely, the safety relief valve (PRV) will automatically release a limited amount of the gas flow into the atmosphere after the set response pressure has been reached.
C. ASSEMBLY
The pressure regulator is connected with a POL flange to the tapping valve of the LPG container, to be supported on the container by means of the support device supplied, or installed in a pipeline with a threaded flange. It is essential to ensure that the pressure regulator is installed with the ventilation openings facing downwards. (See note on the medium pressure regulator).
D. START-UP
Start-up is carried out by slowly opening the extraction valve on the liquid gas container.
If the OPSO has locked, the following steps are required:
- Close the extraction valve on the liquid gas container
- Relieve the pressure at the pressure regulator (inlet and outlet).
- Twist off the plastic cap of the OPSO
- Pull out the OPSO plunger until it engages.
- Screw the plastic cap back on
- Slowly open the extraction valve on the liquid gas container
E. functional test of the container pressure regulator
- Check the inlet pressure: test port G1/4
- Check the outlet pressure: test port G1/8
- Set pressure and function test of SAV/PRV: test port G1/8
