The low pressure regulators type 820-824 are 2nd stage pressure regulators for LPG, which reduce the regulated pressure from the 1st stage pressure regulator to a set outlet pressure. A safety shut-off valve (OPSO) and a safety diaphragm are fitted to the pressure regulators as safety-related equipment.
The NDR-820 to 824 are supplied with a pre-mounted thermal shut-off device (TAE).
The safety diaphragm means that no blow-off line to the outside is required.

OPERATING PRINCIPLES
The low pressure regulator reduces the regulated pressure from the 1st stage pressure regulator to nominally 29 / 37 / 50 / 67 or 100 mbar.
In the event of an impermissibly high increase in the output pressure of the pressure regulator, the response pressure of the safety shut-off valve (OPSO) is reached, which then closes automatically and shuts off the gas flow upstream of the pressure regulator.
If there is a further increase in pressure, e.g. due to the OPSO not closing completely, the safety diaphragm prevents the gas from flowing out unchecked.
Caution!
At an inlet pressure of 4 bar, a capacity of 150 kg/h is achieved.

TYPE NDR 820 – 824 with OPSO & safety diaphragm
DESCRIPTION
The low pressure regulators type 820 – 824 are pressure regulators of the 2nd stage, which reduce the regulated pressure from the pressure regulator of the 1st stage to a set outlet pressure. A safety shut-off valve (OPSO) and a safety diaphragm are mounted on the pressure regulators as safety-related equipment.
A. INDIVIDUAL DESCRIPTIONS
1. Safety shut-off valve (OPSO)
The OPSO is open during normal operation and is designed to automatically shut off the gas flow when the set response pressure is reached. It must be opened manually after closing.
2. Pressure regulator
The pressure regulator reduces the regulated pressure from the 1st stage pressure regulator to a set outlet pressure.
3. Safety diaphragm
In the event of a malfunction of the OPSO, the safety diaphragm prevents a dangerous quantity of gas from escaping into the installation room. A blow-off line is therefore not required.
B. MODE OF OPERATION
The low pressure regulator reduces the unregulated pressure from the 1st stage pressure regulator to nominally 20 / 30 / 50 / 70 or 100 mbar. In the event of an impermissibly high increase in the outlet pressure of the pressure regulator, the response pressure of the safety shut-off valve (OPSO) is reached, which then closes automatically and shuts off the gas flow upstream of the pressure regulator.
If there is a further increase in pressure, e.g. due to the OPSO not closing completely, the safety relief valve (OPSO) will automatically release a limited amount of the gas flow into the atmosphere after reaching the set response pressure.
C. ASSEMBLY
1. Outdoor installation “f”
In this case, the low-pressure regulator is mounted on the building in front of the house inlet in a house connection box.
2. Indoor installation “t”
The pressure regulator is installed inside the building and is equipped with a fuse. There is no need No blow-off line must be led into the open air, as the pressure regulator is equipped with a safety diaphragm.
The vent must always be open, otherwise the OPSO will lock due to pressure increase.
D. COMMISSIONING
Start-up is carried out together with the 1st stage pressure regulator. The main shut-off valve must be opened slowly.
If the OPSO has locked, the following steps are required:
- Close the main shut-off valve
- Relieve the pressure on the pressure regulator (inlet and outlet).
- Twist off the brass cap of the OPSO
- Pull out the OPSO tappet until it engages
- Screw the brass cap back on
- Slowly open the main shut-off valve
